Since Jim gets $15 for every 3 hours then in order to find the salary for 18 hours, you multiply 15 by 6.

    $15 for 3 hours; 15:3

    $? for 18 hours; ?:18

    See it?

Well, you multiply 15 and 6 and you'd get 90.

    $15 for 3 hours; 15:3

    $90 for 18 hours; 90:18

Then, of course, Jim decides to spend his money on some pants for prom. (That prom isn't true, but let's pretend it is.)

So he spends 1/3 of his money for some pair of pants. = 3=

So you would do 1/3 multiplied with 90.

That would, of course, result with 30.

So Jim wasted $30 on jeans.

    So ...

    90-30=60

    He got $60 left.
