    So find the LCM or least common multipule

    this is found by factoring and combining factors, ingnoring duplicates so

    6 and 8

    6=2 times 3

    8=2 times 2 times 2

    so the LCM=2 times 2 times 2 times 3 (we ignored the other 2 because it was in there already) = 24

    We need to find the LCM, so we start off by listing the multiples of 6 and 8

    6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36

    8: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40

    You can notice that 6 and 8 both have 24 in common so that means that 24 is the least common denominator.
