    The perimeter is equal to the sum of all the sides.

    Let's use variable L to represent our length.

    There are two lengthwise sides in a rectangle we can write the expression 2L for two of our length wise side

    For our width wise. One side is equal to 3x/3, the 3 on the top and bottom of the fraction cancels out to give us just "x" for one widthwise side.

    There are two width sides, so 2x for both of those sides.

    Perimeter = 2x + 2L = 10x + 6

    Move the 2x on the right has side.

    2L = 10x + 6 - 2x

    2L = 8x + 6

    L = (8x+6) / 2

    L = 4x + 3

    Length is equal to the expression 4x + 3
