Two dogs are racing on a track that is 7 miles long. The dogs start running at the opening shot and both dogs run at a steady speed. One dog finishes in half the time that the other dog finishes. Where is the slower dog when the faster dog finishes?

    If the faster dog finishes in half the time, the slower dog is half as fast as the faster dog. This means that it has only completed half the track which is at 3.5 miles.
