    Part A: make slope-intercept form of equation

    We will have variable y for the depth of the submarine after x hours. The start 1,500 will be written - 1,500 because it's below surface of water.

    The equation after x hours will be

    y = - 1,500 + 52x

    y = 52x - 1,500

    Part B: Find the depth after two hours

    Change variable x with 2

    y = 52x - 1,500

    y = 52 (2) - 1,500

    y = 104 - 1,500

    y = - 1,396

    Negative means it's below surface
