    First thing you would do is plug in the (-3) to a

    Your equations would look like this:

    k (a) = 4 (-3) + 2

    You would multiply 4 * - 3, giving you - 12.

    k (a) = 12 + 2

    Then you would add 12 + 2, giving you 14.

    k (a) = 14

    k (a) would equal 14.
