Mr. James wants to build a walkway around his school garden. The width of his garden is one-third the length. The perimeter of the school garden is 32 feet. What is the length and width of his garden?

    2 (3W+W) = 32 feet

    8W=32 feet

    W=4 feet

    L=3W

    L=3 * 4 feet

    L=12 feet

    The width is 4 feet, the length is 12 feet.
