    A = L•W

    72 = 9 • (2x + 4)

    72 = 9 (2x + 4)

    72 = 18x + 36

    72 - 36 = 18x + 36 - 36

    36 = 18x

    36/18 = 18x/18

    2 = X

    L = 2x + 4

    L = 2 (2) + 4

    L = 4 + 4

    L = 8.

    The rectangle's length is C. 8 units.
