A recipe for cookies calls for 3 1/4 cups of sugar. Amy has already put in 3 1/9 cups. How many more cups does she need to put in?

    (3+1/4) - (3+1/9) = (3-3) + (1/4-/9) = (9-4) / 36=5/36 cups left

    5/36 get a common multiple of 9 and 4 which is 36
