    Use the formula for the volume of a cylinder.

    V = area of the base * height

    area of the base = π (radius) ^2

    V = π (radius) ^2 * height = π (8 in) ^2 (18in) = 1,152π in^3

    If you use π≈3.14, you get

    V = 3,617.28 in^3
