    Error in given values.

    Step-by-step explanation:

Let number nickel coins = x

Let number dime coins = y

Given that total number of coins is 25 so that means

    x+y=25

    or x=25-y ... (i)

    We know that 1 nickel = $0.05

    then value of x nickels = 0.05x

    We know that 1 dime = $0.10

    then value of y dimes = 0.10y

Then total value of both type coins will be 0.05x+0.10y

    Given total value is $3.60

    So we get

    0.05x+0.10y=3.60.

multiply both side by 100 to remove decimals

    5x+10y=360

    divide both sides by 5

    x+2y=72 ... (ii)

now we just need to solve both equations:

    plug (i) into (ii)

    x+2y=72

    25-y+2y=72

    25+y=72

    y=47

we are getting 47 coins of dimes.

But we have been given that there are only 25 coins which is not possible.

So there must be some misprinting in the question.
