    A + c = 3806 ... a = 3806 - c

    19a + 9.5c = 55157

    19 (3806 - c) + 9.5c = 55157

    72314 - 19c + 9.5c = 55157

    -19c + 9.5c = 55157 - 72314

    -9.5c = - 17157

    c = - 17157/-9.5

    c = 1806 < = = # of children

    and there were 2000 adults
