    Yes, if the question were y=2x+2, to get the x intercept you will need to rearrange the equation. Making it - 2x+y=2 inserting a 0 in the y would make the x intercept - 1.

    If I were to change the "b" value into 3, the formula would be - 2x+y=3. Insert the 0 in the y value would make the x intercept - 3/2

    Hence yes, it will make the x intercept change.
