What equation represents the area of a rectangle whose length is x 4 and whose width is x - 9?

    The area of a rectangle is length * width so: (x+4) * (x-9)

    (I assumed you meant x+4 just forgot to put the "+" there, if it's something else, then just simply use that instead.)
