    Amount received by Aman's Wife = $4000

The expression which shows the amount received by his son = x + 10000

    Step-by-step explanation:

The total amount Aman has = $9000

Let us assume the amount his daughter receives = $x

So, the amount his wife received = 2 x (Amount received by Daughter)

    = 2 x ($x) = 2 x

And the amount his son received = $1000 + (Amount received by Daughter)

    = 1000 x ($x) = x + 10000

    According to the question:

    Amount of (Daughter's + Wife's + Son's) share = $9000

    x + 2x + x + 10000 = $9,000

    ⇒4 x = 9000 - 1000

    or, 4 x = 8000

    ⇒ x = 8000 / 4 = 2,000

    ⇒ x = $2,000

    So, the amount received by Aman's Wife = 2 x + 2 ($2000) = $4000

The expression which shows the amount received by his son = x + 10000
