Your distance from a lighting strike varies directly with the time it takes you to hear thunder. If you hear thunder 10 seconds after you see lightning you're about 2 miles from lightning what is your independent variable and dependent variable

    Independent Variable is the lightning, while your location is the dependent. because the lightning doesn't depend on where you are to occur yet your location does for you to hear/see it
