    rewrite each equation

    1) 2x+12y=68

    2) 8x-12y=-28

    because the y values are the same number but opposite signs they will cancel out nicely.

    10x=40

    x=4

    now lets plug x into any of the equations.

    2 (4) + 12y=68

    12y=60

    y=5
