    The answer is 40 miles.

First you have to put it into an equation. When you do this you get. 90x+2+3.50=41.50

Now you have to solve using inverse operation. Subtract 3.50 from 41.50 and you get 38.00. Now your equation is. 90x+2=38.00

Now you have to subtract 2 form 38.00 and you get 36.00. Now you get. 90x=36.00

Then you have to divide 36.00 by. 90 and you get 40. Therefore x=40, which means you can travel 40 miles.
