The square of the positive number

    Step-by-step explanation:

    -2^2 = 4 2^2 = 4

    -3^2 = 9 3^2 = 9

Why is this? Because a negative multiplied by a negative is a positive. And when you square a number you are multiplying the number by itself. So two negatives always equal a positive.
