    Assuming that the equation is 3x^2+3x-6=0, then use the quadratic equation, (-b + - sqrt (b^2-4ac)) / 2a, with ax^2+bx+c as the original equation. so here we get (-3+-sqrt (9+72)) / 6 = (-3+-sqrt (81)) / 6 = (-3+-9) / 6, = (-1+-3) / 2 = 1 or - 2. Plug in original to check.
