Mary has a small round mirror in her purse. If the mirror is 4 inches in diameter, what is the area of the mirrored surface?

    Diameter = 4 inches

    Radius = diameter/2 = 4/2 = 2 inches

    Area = πr^2 = π (2) ^2 = 4π = 12.57 inches squared approx.
