Cheryl and Marcus are going to make 2 batches of muffins. The smaller batch is 2/5 the size of the larger batch. The recipe for the larger batch requires 3/5 cup of water. How much water will they need to make the smaller batch? What steps must you take to answer this question

    Assuming the amount water needed is directly proportional to the size of the muffin. the amount of water needed for the smaller muffin can be solve by first solving its size,

    size of small muffin = 2 / 5

    amount of water for the small muffin = (2 / 5) (3 / 5)

    amount of water for the small muffin = 6 / 25 cup of water
