7 cakes = x?
So you cross multiplication
5x=3.50 times 7
x = 4.90

If 5 cakes cost 3.50 then 7 cakes cost 4.90
3.50 divided by 5 is 0.7
so each indibidual cake is 0.7
so multiply that by 7 you get 4.90
