First write 39 1/5 as a proper fraction.
39 1/5 = 196/5
A radical number should have a root symbol. To make this number has a root symbol and maintain its value, we have to square it.
(196/5) ² = 38,416/25
∴ 39 1/5 = (√38,416) / (√25) or
= √1,536.64
