    lim x → ∞ x^4 x^8 + 2

    Combine exponents:

    lim x → ∞ x^ (4 + 8) + 2

    lim x → ∞ x^12 + 2

The limit at infinity of a polynomial, when the leading coefficient is positive is infinity.
