A box in the shape of a rectangular prism has a width that is 5 inches greater than the height and a length that is 2 inches greater than the width. Write a polynomial expression in standard form for the volume of the box. Let x equal the height if the box.

    V=lwh

    w is 5 more than h

    w=5+h

    legnth is 2 inches more than width

    l=2+w

    it seems that they want it in terms of x or height

    so

    v=lwh

    v = (2+w) (5+h) (h)

    v = (2+5+h) (5+h) (h)

    v = (h+7) (h+5) (h)

    v = (x+7) (x+5) (x)

    v=x^3+12x^2+35x
