    Find 1 bag:

    1/2 : 4 = 1/2 x 1/4 = 1/8

    Find 3 bags:

    He kept 3 packets

    1/8 x 3 = 3/8

Answer: He kept 3/8 of the original package to himself.

    1 small bag:

    1/2 : 4 = 1/2 · 1/4 = 1/8

    Luke's part:

    3 · 1/8 = 3/8

Answer: 3/8 of the original package
