If the number of bacteria in a colony doubles every 380 minutes and there is currently a

population of 42,450 bacteria, what will the population be 760 minutes from now?

    In 380 minutes time, it will have doubled.

    42,450 x 2 = 84,900

    To get from 380 to 760, you double again.

    So you need to multiply 84,900 by 2 again.

    84,900 x 2 = 169,800.
