Why is negative 2 divided by 2 = 1 Why not negative 1 (-1) ?

    -2:2 equals - 1.

    1 is not the answer.

    When divide or multiplying integers the results will come out different.

    Example

    -4*5=-20

    Note: Multiplying a positive (+) and a negative (-) the results will be a negative (This goes for dividing integers)

    -20:5=-4

    Example 2

    -6*-6=36

    Note: Multiplying a negative (-) and a negative (-) the results will be a positive (This also goes for diving integers)

    -36:-6=6
