Speaker placement. a stereo receiver is in a corner of an 18 -ft by 24 -ft room. speaker wire will run under a rug, diagonally, to a speaker in the far corner. if 4 feet of slack is required on each end, how long a piece of wire should be purchased?

    The length of wire to be purchased will be found as follows:

    c²=a²+b²

    c²=18²+24²

    c²=900

    c=√900

    c=30 ft

    Thus the length of the wire will be:

    30+4+4

    =38 ft
