A 21 inch piece of steel is cut into three pieces so that the second piece is twice as long as the first, the third piece is 3 inches more than three times the length of the first piece. find the lengths of the pieces.

    3f+3=t

    s=2f

    21=f+s+t

    21=f + (2f) + (3f+3)

    21=6f+3

    18=6f

    3=first

    6=second

    12=third
