What is the value of the expression when x=4 and y=-2?

    The expression is

    x² + xy³ / 2

    where x = 4 and y = - 2

    putting the values of x and y in the expression we get,

    4² + 4 (-2) ³ / 2 = 16 + 4 (-8) / 2

    = 16 + (-32) / 2

    = - 16/2

    = - 8

    the value of the expression is - 2
