A basket is filed with 8 white eggs and 10 brown eggs. Half of the white eggs are cracked.

An egg is randomly selected from the basket. What is the probability that it is a cracked, white egg?

    4/18 is the probability.

    That comes from 4 eggs being cracked.

    8 total white and 10 total brown gives you the 18 total eggs.

    Therefore 4 out of 18 chance to get a cracked egg.
