2x3y + 18xy - 10x2y - 90y

Part A: Rewrite the expression so that the GCF is factored completely.

Part B: After factoring out the GCF ... factor the polynomial expression completely using group factoring. Show the steps of your work.

    A. 2y is the GCF and you can tell that by it being the largest number that goes into all. Each term also has a y, but not all have an x.

    2y (x^3 - 5x^2 + 9x - 45)

    B. You can factor the remaining using the splitting method.

    2y (x - 5) (x^2 + 9)
