A family purchased tickets for a concert. They paid a total of $90.00 for 7 adults tickets and 12 child tickets. The price of a child ticket 2/3 the price of an adult ticket. How much is the price of one adult ticket.

    The equation is like this 12x + (2/3) 7x = 90

    Simplify

    12x + (14/3x) = 90

    (50/3) x = 90

    x = 90 / (50/3)

    x = 5.4
