8x+2y=30 can someone show the work.

8x+2y=30 X&Y would both be 3 because 8*3=24 and 2*3=6 so it turns into 24+6=30

The first one I'm not sure on sorry.

Notice that both equations contain + 2y so if we subtract the first equation form the second we get:-

8x - 7x + 2y - 2y = 30 - 24

x = 6

Now to find the value of y we substitute for x in the first equation.

7 (6) + 2y = 24

2y = 24 - 42

2y = - 18

y = - 9

So the solution to the system of equations is x = 6, y = - 9 (answer)
