The perimeter of a quadrilateral (four-sided polygon) is 41 inches. The longest side is twice as long as the shortest side. The other two sides are equally long and are 3 inches longer than the shortest side. Find the length of all four sides.

    x = short side

    2x = longest side

    x + 3 = side 3

    x + 3 = side 4

    x + (2x) + (x+3) + (x+3) = 41

    5x + 6 = 41

    5x = 35

    x = 7
