Given the lengths of its sides, a triangle can be constructed using straws or strips of paper that are the given lengths. Using one of these tools, construct a triangle that has side lengths of 1.75 inches, 1.25 inches, and 3.25 inches.

If it is possible to construct a triangle with these side lengths, include a sketch of your construction in your answer, making sure to label all measurements. In addition, (a) classify the triangle based on its sides and angles, and (b) explain whether the triangle you constructed is unique or if more than one triangle with these side lengths is possible

If it is not possible to construct a triangle with these side lengths, (a) explain your reasoning, (b) describe how one of the side lengths could be changed in order to make the construction possible, and (c) construct and sketch a triangle using the new side length.

    See below.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    (a) 1.75 + 1.25 = 3 inches.

Now the other side is 3.25 inches long, so a triangle can't be constructed.

For a triangle to be formed the length of any side must be less than the sum of the other 2 sides.

    (b) if the length of the longest side is reduced to less than 3, say 2.5 inches then a triangle can be constructed.
