    Write a linear equation representing this situation. Let C be the total charge for the car rental. Then C = $100 + ($5/10 miles) x, where x represents the total number of miles driven.

    C = $200 = $100 + ($0.50/mile) x

    Simplifying, $100 = ($0.50/mile) x

    Divide both sides by ($0.50/mile) : [$100] / [$0.50/mile] = x

    Solving for x: x = 200 miles

    Its 250 miles cuz 20 x 5 = 100 and 20x10 is 200 so 200+50 = 250
