    Assume that,

    x^2+4x-5 = 0 ... (1)

    Then, x^2+4x-5 = 0 x^2+5x-1x-5 = 0

    x (x+5) - 1 (x+5) = 0

    (x+5) (x-1) = 0

    We get x=-5 and x=1

    Sub x=-5 in equ (1)

    (-5) ^2+4 (5) - 5 = 0

    -25+20-5 = 0

    -25+25 = 0

    0 = 0

    Sub x=1 in equ (1) (1) ^2+4 (1) - 5 = 0

    1+4-5 = 0 5-5 = 0

    0 = 0

    Therefore x value is - 5 and 1
