    Let the time taken to travel to work be x hours

    Time taken to travel from work will be (x-1/3) hours

    the formula for distance is:

    distance=speed*time

    Distance traveled in both instances are the same, thus we shall have:

    25x=45 (x-1/3)

    solving for x we get

    25x=45x-15

    -45x+25x=-15

    -20x=-15

    x=3/4 hours

    thus the distance traveled from home to office was:

    20 (3/4) = 15 miles
