    absolute values describes the distance of a number on the number line from 0 without considering which direction from zero the number lies.

    Absolute value is just how far a number is from zero on a number line. So the absolute value of - 7 will be 7 because it is 7 units away from zero. The absolute value of 15 is 15 because it is 15 units away from zero
