    Let the price for adult be x, therefore price paid by student would be x-$2.25

    total price is equal to 230x+180 (x-2.25) = $2260

    that is 230x + 180x-405=2260

    410x-405=2260

    like terms together

    410x=2260+405

    410x=2665

    divide both side by 410

    x=$6.5 is the price of an adult ticket
