    4x-4*3+5=1

    4x=1+12-5

    4x=8 (divide by 4)

    2) 96=-6 (-4-3y)

    96=24+18y

    -18y=24-96 (divide by - 18)

    y=-72 / (-18)

    y=4

    answer is B

    3) - 4y+8=4 (2y-2) - 2 (-16+8y)

    -4y+8=8y-8+32-16y

    -4y+8y=24-8

    4y=16 (divide by 4)

    y=4
