There are 6 different cookies on a plate. Aiden will choose 2 of thes cookies to pack in his luch. How many different pairs of 2 cookies can he choose from the 6?

    We would use the method of combinations to solve this problem:

    There are 6 cookies. Aidan chooses 2 of them:

    (6C2) which is 6 choose 2, or (6 * 5) / 2 = 15.

    The answer is 15 pairs.
