    The formula of a perimeter of rectangle:

    P = 2l + 2w

    We have P = 35.8 cm and 2l = 25.64 cm.

    Substitute:

    25.64 + 2w = 35.8 subtract 25.64 from both sides

    2w = 10.16 divide both sides by 2

    w = 5.08

    Answer: the width = 5.08 cm
