    The equation of a line is y=mx+b

    m=the slope

    b=the y intercept

    In this equation there is only an x so the m=1=slope

    and 2=b=y-intercept

    Slope intercept form is y=mx+b (where m is the slope and b is the y intercept)

    Since there is no number in front of the x, it means there is an invisible 1 there so the slope is 1. the + 2 is the y-intercept.
