    You need to use the equation Distance (miles) = Rate (miles/hour) x Time (hours)

    Brandi: 2.5 miles=rate (1/2 hour) r=5 miles per hour

    Sharna=3.5 miles = rate (3/4 hour) r = 7 miles per hour.

    Therefore brandi jogged at a slower rate.

    30/2 1/2

    30/2.5

    =12

    3/4/3 1/2

    45/3.5

    =13

    Sharna jogged at a slower rate because she took approximately 1 minute more per mile than Brandi did.
