    Small cups were 98 Large cups were 57

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Ashley sold small cups of lemonade for $1.25 and;

    Large cups of lemonade for $2.50

    The total number of cups = 155 cups

    Total sales = $265

    Let number of small cups sold be (s) and a number of large cups sold be (l)

    This forms a simultaneous equation below:

    s + l = 155 ... (i)

    1.25s + 2.5l = 265 ... (ii)

    Multiplying (i) by 1.25 and (ii) by 1 we get:

    1.25s + 1.25l = 193.75 ... (i)

    1.25s + 2.5l = 265 ... (ii)

    Subtracting (i) from (ii) we get:

    0s + 1.25l = 71.25

    1.25l = 71.25

    l = 71.25 : 1.25 = 57

    So the number of large cups = 57 and;

    the number of small cups = 155 - 57 = 98
