The weather report states that the probability it will rain on Wednesday is 30 percent and the probability that it will rain on Saturday is 60 percent. What is the probability that it will rain on Wednesday and on Saturday?

    Since these 2 events are independent, the probability of them both occurring is obtained by multiplying them

    P (rain on Wed and Sat) = 0.30 * 0.60 = 0.18

    which is 18%
